How We Help Students Make Sound Choices

Counseling:

  • Individual and group counseling based on the students needs.  This is not a substitute for long-term therapy or to address psychological disorders
  • Referrals to outside sources as needed
  • Small group counseling
  • Provide counseling for students who have discipline problems and excessive absenteeism
  • Crisis interventions
  • Problem-solving
  • Peer conflict resolution
  • Peer relationships, coping strategies and effective social skills
  • Consultation and collaboration with outside resources

Guidance:
  • Individual and school-wide academic support in areas including organizational and test taking skills, interventions to enhance success, test score/data interpretation, goal-setting and transition plans
  • School wide curriculum on stress and anxiety
  • High school course selection and planning
  • Career exploration and planning
  • College/Career awareness education
